Why Does Marlo Hampton Have A Confederate Flag On Her Shirt? Former Real Housewives of atlanta star got in hot water this past weekend for rocking a controversial t-shirt to a NASCAR event. Her top read “I ♥ My Redneck Boyfriend” with hearts made out of Confederate flags. Sigh. According to BET , on The Shade Room’s Facebook page , one woman wrote, “Of course she loves her redneck boyfriend. That’s her income.” Another person wrote, “The words aren’t offensive but you would think an educated Black woman would know enough about her history than to wear a Confederate flag,” while another said “Same ‘rednecks’ that fought a war against their own country to keep their slaves. Congratulations, you’re stupid.” After getting dragged on social media, she posted up a video apologizing for the misstep. “Please accept my sincere apologies for any offense that was taken by my previous post. Please watch this video to understand my point of view…I truly respect all of your opinions and point of views,” she said. But she still believes that she didn’t do anything wrong and said that she didn’t understand that the shirt would make people so upset.
